The Top 7 Questions Asked at the Fabletics Road Show

July 9, 2024 in Retail Community Corner, Thought Leadership

The StoreForce Road Show was a fantastic event, bringing together retailers from all over Los Angeles County for breakfast and a lively discussion session with Fabletics’ Senior Director of Retail Operations, Katherine Dela Cruz Paulk, and StoreForce Account Executive, Bliss Gordon.

In this blog, Katherine and Bliss answer questions about the benefits of implementing StoreForce into their operations. They explore how StoreForce can help predict when to extend store hours, decide where to open new shops, and much more.

Retail success isn’t just about having the right products; it’s about making informed decisions based on solid data.

Katherine: Absolutely. Our SVP Head of Retail, Ron Harries, uses StoreForce’s Dashboard to drive performance every day. He looks at the regional breakdown and sends out messages to foster healthy competition among our store teams. For example, he shares snapshots of top-performing associates in our chat, which motivates everyone to step up their game. This approach not only boosts participation but also promotes positive business behaviors.

Katherine: StoreForce helps you understand your business by categorizing your stores and analyzing their performance. For instance, you can classify stores as mall locations or freestanding locations and compare their performance. This insight allows for informed decision-making based on specific business segments.

When opening a new shop, we leverage a unique functionality that assigns a ‘sister store’ to the new location. This pairing allows the new store to borrow traffic data from an existing store, providing an estimate for scheduling until patterns emerge. It’s an invaluable feature for predicting performance in new markets.

Katherine: StoreForce allows us to load and manage selling and non-selling hours separately. This separation ensures that core selling hours aren’t compromised. Non-selling activities like floor sets or inventory are managed during non-peak hours. Additionally, we can assign tasks such as training or inventory management to non-selling hours, enabling us to optimize store operations effectively.

Katherine: “StoreForce provides insights on a store-by-store basis. Directors of operations and field managers can easily access these reports, ensuring everyone is on the same page. This visibility empowers managers to proactively address issues, showing their investment in and reliance on these tools. Engaged and motivated managers are crucial for the success of any retail operation.”

Katherine: We took a ‘crawl, walk, run’ approach. We started with scheduling, and integrated traffic data and real-time sales from day one. Now, we’re leveraging tasks and exploring discussion boards. I recommend prioritizing the store visit tool early on to enhance consistency across the field.

Katherine: StoreForce helps make these decisions by providing visibility into staff availability. This data-driven approach supports decisions about staffing needs and optimizes coverage for peak times. It empowers you to use existing resources effectively and supports informed conversations with store managers.

Bliss: Data from StoreForce revealed that the issue might not be a lack of staff but their availability when needed. By focusing on availability discussions rather than just adding more people, we addressed the problem efficiently.

Katherine: Previously, we managed time tracking in our previous HRIS system without integration between scheduling and actual hours. StoreForce’s Time and Attendance offers immediate impact, allowing regional directors to manage and discuss metrics promptly. The feedback on adoption has been overwhelmingly positive, with managers appreciating the streamlined visibility and real-time management.
