Customers\u202fare\u202fnow purchasing products in\u202fdifferent\u202fways, across many channels,\u202fand\u202fon their\u202fterms.\u202f2020\u202fspawned many new\u202fretail\u202fservices and technologies. This has resulted in new activities and responsibilities. The store\u202fis no longer just\u202fthe place to purchase goods. Pre-2020, about 20% of the\u202fstore\u2019s\u202foverall hours were spent on\u202fnon-sell activities. Retailers should also ensure that the KPIs they are using to measure productivity do not send mixed messages. Establish KPIs for each deliverable and hold employees accountable for the role that they are playing. But it is still the single most important touchpoint in the customer\u2019s journey with the brand.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>No matter how retail has changed, the employees in your stores are still the main differentiator for the brand.<\/strong>&nbsp;They are the\u202freason\u202fcustomers come into the store and support the customer\u2019s emotional connection with your brand.
